New York Rangers: Defenseman Marc Staal left last night’s games early with a lower-body injury.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Jordan Hall: Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere returned to the lineup after being out with an illness.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Sam Werner: Coach Mike Sullivan had no update on goaltender Matt Murray. Sullivan added that it will be day-to-day for Murray.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Kristen Shilton: Forward Nikita Soshnikov took part in the Leafs morning skate yesterday. It was the first time on the ice with the team since he was put on the IR last month. When he’s ready to be activated, the Leafs will need to make a roster move.

Chris Johnston: Mike Babcock said they are hopeful that they can send Soshnikov to the AHL on a conditioning stint.
