On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: Forward Brad Marchand didn’t travel with the team to start their two-game road trip due to an upper-body injury.

“Marchand won’t be traveling with us,” said Cassidy, following the Bruins impressive 5-3 home win over the Minnesota Wild without Marchand on Monday night. “So that’s the best I have.”

The Bruins play Toronto on Friday, so it is possible that Marchand could join the team before then.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

John Vogl of the Buffalo News: The Sabres have used ten defensemen so far this season. Four of their top eight defensemen were absent from practice yesterday, but help could be on the way.

Nathan Beaulieu and Josh Gorges are expected to return to practice this week. Zach Bogosian has been skating on his own. Rasmus Ristolainen missed practice yesterday.

Ristolainen is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Bogosian is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Forward Justin Bailey is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Gorges has a lower-body injury.

Forward Evan Rodrigues‘ hand injury is taking little longer to heal, but he is skating.

Forward Jacob Josefson is week-to-week with a foot injury and hasn’t started skating.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Aaron Portzline: The Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert will be out three to four weeks with an upper-body injury. The Blue Jackets put Calvert on the IR.

On the Florida Panthers …

Florida Panthers: The Panthers assigned forward Owen Tippett to Mississauga of the OHL.

Jameson Olive: Roberto Luongo will start in net for the Panthers today.

On the New York Rangers …

Larry Brooks: The Rangers confirmed that they’ve assigned/loaned defenseman Alexei Bereglazov to Magnitogorsk of the KHL.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

John Boruk: Goaltender Michal Neuvirth was given a maintenance day yesterday. Forward Nolan Patrick and defenseman Radko Gudas are listed as day-to-day with upper-body injuries.
