NHL News: Blues Sign Ott …. Lose Sobotka

  • Roman Jedlicka: Vladimir Sobotka signed a three-year deal with Avangard Omsk of the KHL. He’ll get $4 million per season with Omsk and can leave for the NHL after any season (per isport.cz)
  • Andy Strickland: Armstrong said that Sobotka will still owe the Blues one-year of service after the arbitration hearing  if/when he returns to the NHL.
  • Greg Wyshynski: Blues saying Sobotka fired his agent recently and hired Petr Svoboda.
  • Andy Strickland: Armstrong said they offered Sobotka contracts ranging from a year up to five-years. Offered a three-year deal at over $3 million per season.
  • Lou Korac: Armstrong said that they will go ahead with Sobotka’s arbitration hearing on July 21st.
