On the Montreal Canadiens …

On the New Jersey Devils …

Andrew Gross: Forward Marcus Johansson (concussion) was on the ice for the last half of their morning skate yesterday. Is the next step in his recovery.

Andrew Gross: The Devils called Johansson being on the ice yesterday a “rehab skate.”

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Adam Gretz: “No Malkin hurts, the schedule has been tough. But the only thing the Penguins did this summer to replace Nick Bonino, Matt Cullen, Chris Kunitz and Trevor Daley was to trade for Ryan Reaves and sign Matt Hunwick. That’s a bigger issue.”

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Lightning recalled forward Cory Conacher.
