On the Colorado Avalanche …

Eurolanche: The Avs recently signed goaltender Pavel Francouz. He turned down big offers from the KHL saying “Money are not everything” and decided to give the NHL a shot with the Avs.

Eurolanche: Francouz left two offers on the table from KHL, with one of them for big money from one of the richer KHL teams. The Nashville Predators were also interested in him.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

CBJ PR: The Blue Jackets have signed 2017 sixth-round pick Jonathan Davidson to a three-year entry-level contract.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers have signed 2015 draft pick forward David Kase to an entry-level deal.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Pens Inside Scoop: Coach Mike Sullivan on Phil Kessel’s health: “I don’t think Phil is banged up more than anybody else. It’s a physical series and everybody has bumps and bruises. I think that’s par for the course at this time of year.”

Igor Eronko: Yegor Korshkov signed in the KHL for one more year. He was initially going to sign with the Maple Leafs.

On the Washington Capitals …

Washington Capitals: Forward Andre Burakovsky was on the ice yesterday morning ahead of the Capitals optional practice.

Tom Gulitti: Coach Barry Trotz said that Burakovsky is still week-to-week. Yesterday was his first day back on the ice and he didn’t do anything with a puck.

Tarik El-Bashir: The Capitals have signed goaltender Ilya Samsonov to a three-year entry-level contract with an AAV of $925,000.
