NHL Injuries: Stars, Blues, Hawks, Flames, Sabres and Penguins
Tyler Seguin and Brian Elliott

On the Dallas Stars …

  • Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Tyler Seguin suffered a cut on the back of his leg with about 22 seconds left in the third. More will be known today.

Lindy Ruff said: “He got cut, so we’ll know more tomorrow.”

  • Mark Stepneski: John Klingberg and Jordie Benn missed last night’s game, but are real close to returning.

On the St. Louis Blues …

  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Goalie Brian Elliott could return to the Blues lineup for tomorrow’s game against the Canucks. Elliott was put on the LTIR on February 24th with a knee injury. He is eligible to come off the LTIR at any time now.

“My goal was to come back when the IR date was going to expire, and I worked towards that,” Elliott said. “Obviously we have to give it the last talk. We’ll talk with the coaches, trainers and management and go from there.”

Alex Steen has missed the past 11 games with a shoulder injury. He is still having troubles shooting the puck.

“Obviously with time, it’s going to heal on its own,” Steen said. “Like I said before, I feel like it’s a slow process. It’s just not good enough right now. This is going to take the time that it takes. They’re long days right now.”

Steen said it would be optimal if he could get into some games before the playoffs start, but isn’t overly concerned or stressed about it.

Steve Ott has been out since early December with torn hamstrings.

“It’s a process, especially for me because we don’t really have a real timeline we’re working with,” Ott said. “It’s more a feel. Good days, bad days, but a lot more good days than bad days. That’s kind of where we’re at right now.”

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

  • Chicago Blackhawks: Corey Crawford didn’t travel with the team to Winnipeg and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

On the Calgary Flames …

  • Aaron Vickers: TJ Brodie and Sam Bennett were both on the ice yesterday. Missing from Flames practice were Mark Giordano, Deryk Engelland, Dennis Wideman and Joni Ortio.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

  • Joe YerdonRobin Lehner missed practice with something more than a maintenance day according to coach Dan Bylsma.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

  • Seth Rorabaugh: Scott Wilson will need surgery. He has a walking boot on his right foot. There is no timetable for his recovery yet.
