NHL Injuries: Flyers, Stars, Caps, Panthers, Preds, Wings and Bruins
Scott Laughton
On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Philadelphia Flyers: Scott Laughton remained in hospital overnight for precautionary reasons. All test done were negative.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Center Tyler Seguin missed last night’s game against the Wild, and he hasn’t skated since suffering an injury that is related to his sliced Achilles in Game 2. He’s still resting back in Dallas.

On the Washington Capitals …

Isabelle Khurshudyan: Barry Trotz said that Brooks Orpik is “doing better.”

On the Florida Panthers …

Mike Morreale of NHL.com: Panthers center Vincent Trocheck is getting close to returning to the lineup. He’s missed the past 10 games with an ankle injury. He skated on his own before practice yesterday, and took part in a few line rushes before leaving practice early.

“Trocheck’s on schedule; he’s doing well,” coach Gerard Gallant said. “In the near future, he’ll be back. He was one of, if not our best forward before he got hurt. He played great hockey and was a big part of our team. He’s not there right now, but I still like the way our team is playing for the most part.”

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan of the Tennessean: Craig Smith left Tuesday’s game in the first period with a lower-body injury and he didn’t practice yesterday.

“Injuries happen all the time,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. “Things weren’t set in stone down the stretch. There was always movement based on an injury or guys playing well. Those are things that happen through the course of the regular season and through the course of the playoffs. Our guys have played with each other. If we do move somebody up there, I’m sure there’s been some sort of chemistry in the past with those players, and they’ll be able to figure that out. I’m not too concerned about that.”

On the Detroit Red Wings ..

Helene St. James: Defenseman Alexey Marchenko is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

On the Boston Bruins …

Zack Cox: Cam Neely confirmed that Torey Krug will have shoulder surgery.
