Mike Heika: Patrick Sharp practiced today with teammates for the first time since suffering a concussion. He is not expected to play, but it is a good sign he’s able to practice.

“It’s a step in the right direction and some light at the end of the tunnel for him. He’s feeling better. Hopefully we can get him two or three practices and he can be ready possibly for Sunday.”

Paul Hamilton: Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov was given a maintenance day yesterday and is day-to-day. Ryan O’Reilly has a mid-body injury.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Matthew Sekeres: Forward Jannik Hansen will be out four to six weeks with a fractured rib that they say happened from a Morgan Rielly hit.

On the Boston Bruins …

Boston Bruins: Forward Noel Acciari will miss about four weeks with a lower-body injury.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Erik ErlendssonJonathan Drouin didn’t practice yesterday and missed his fourth consecutive game.

Bryan Burns: Coach Jon Cooper hopes that Drouin will be able to return soon, but they are not going to rush him:  “It’s all about how he’s feeling. He wants to come back more than anybody,”

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan: Forward Thomas Vanek (on the LTIR with a hip injury) skated before practice yesterday. The earliest he’ll be able to return is Nov. 18th. Tomas Jurco skated yesterday and could be a couple weeks away from returning.

Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Forward Andreas Athanasiou will miss at least one game – Saturday against the Canadiens – with a lower-body injury.
