  • Arthur Staple of Newsday: Goalie Jaroslav Halak will be out six to eight weeks with a groin injury.

    ”Jaro’s an experienced guy who’s played some big games for us,” Capuano said. “It’s a big loss for our team. We’ve got some guys who can step up and hopefully they can do the job.”

On the New York Rangers …

  • Steve Zipay of Newsday: Defenseman Dylan McIlrath had his knee re-evaluated on Tuesday and he’ll be out “a couple weeks” according to coach Alain Vigneault. Marc Staal has also been out of the lineup and didn’t skate yesterday due to back spasms.Vigneault said that Henrik Lundqvist would be ready this weekend.

    “All the information from our medical staff is that should be ready by the weekend . . . the spasms were almost gone.”

    Rick Nash has had a good couple days. He’s been out since January 22nd with a bone bruise is his leg.
