Western Conference Injuries: Ducks, Avs, Sharks, Coyotes, Jets and Blackhawks
Semyon Varlamov and Jakob Silfverberg
On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Forward Jakob Silfverberg skated yesterday morning, but missed his third consecutive game last night. It was his second straight day of skating. Silfverberg passed his initial baseline test.

“It’s not something that’s obviously good so you try to take every precaution you can,” Silfverberg said. “I feel like we’ve been doing really good with that and I feel comfortable where I am. Again, a few more extra days now where I can work and hopefully I’ll be ready after that.”

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Terry Frei: Coach Jared Bednar seem to indicate that there is a possibility of shutting goaltender Semyon Varlamov down for the season.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News: The Sharks have activated forward Tomas Hertl from the IR and he’s expected to be in the lineup tonight against the Oilers. He’s missed the past 23 games with a knee sprain.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Sarah McLellan: Forward Shane Doan has an upper-body injury and is questionable for tonight according to coach Dave Tippett. The same goes for Jordan Martinook.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Sean Reynolds: The Jets have put forward Mathieu Perreault on the IR and recalled Brian Strait.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago: Blackhawks forward Marcus Kruger will likely be in the lineup tonight against the Jets. Kruger was taken off the IR on Tuesday.

“The goal is to play as soon as possible,” Kruger said following Wednesday’s practice. “I prepared for but it was good Rass recovered and could play. Same thing tomorrow. I’m ready.”
