New York Rangers Henrik Lundqvist and Dan Girardi remain out but are getting closer
On the New York Rangers …

Steve Zipay: Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been skating everyday and is feeling good. He won’t travel with the team to Minnesota as he’s remaining in New York to skate everyday. He could be ahead of their initial timetable.

Dan Rosen: The Rangers are looking at Lundqvist returning on their Californian trip.

Justin Tasch: Forward Jesper Fast should be able to return today. Defenseman Dan Girardi won’t play this weekend.

Steve Zipay: Dan Girardi said that when he’s able to return, he’ll be ready to play 20 minutes a game if need be.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Mark Masters: Forward Tyler Bozak on the injury that he’s been dealing with: “Everything’s feeling a lot better & hopefully it keeps improving.”

Bruce Garrioch: Sounding like defenseman Mark Borowiecki is doubtful for this weekend.

Cory Lavalette: Coach Bill Peters said that forward Jay McClement would be out for a couple weeks. Valentin Zykov did skate yesterday despite being ‘sore.’

Bryan Burns: Coach Jon Cooper said that Tyler Johnson, Vladislav Nemestnikov and Cedric Paquette remain out.

Joe Smith: Steven Stamkos didn’t take part in line rushes yesterday, but remained on the ice with the team after his workout.

Pat Hickey: Alexei Emelin and Alexander Radulov missed practiced yesterday due to the flu. Brendan Gallagher was at therapy. Nikita Nesterov and Brian Flynn are injured.

Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Forward Dmitrij Jaskin will be out for at least a week according to coach Mike Yeo. He is with the team on their road trip, but isn’t practicing. Jori Lehtera isn’t traveling with the team after he was hit in the head with the puck.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Ken Wiebe: Coach Paul Maurice said that defenseman Jacob Trouba and forward Shawn Matthias were out last night with upper-body injuries.

Ken Wiebe: Defenseman Tyler Myers (lower-body) and Jacob Trouba (upper-body) skated after the Jets practice was over.

Mark Stepneski: Not much update on Jamie Benn‘s upper-body injury, he’ll be re-evaluated in the morning. Lindy Ruff said the injury may have been from early in the game.
