Sami Hoffren: Unlike reports coming from Sportsnet, Jets forward Joel Armia is recovering from a MCL injury. He doesn’t require surgery and will be out for four to six weeks.

Chip Alexander: Defenseman Justin Faulk left last night’s game early and didn’t return.

Chip Alexander: Coach Bill Peters said after the game that they didn’t know the severity of Faulk’s injury.

Larry Brooks: Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said the decision to rest defenseman Dan Girardi is “preventative” relating to his previous groin issue.

Mike Heika: Stars forward Jason Spezza missed yesterday’s game with a lower-body injury and will be out for “a while.” Jiri Hudler remains out with an illness. The Stars have recalled Justin Dowling.

Mike Heika: Spezza is travelling with the team. Coach Lindy Ruff said he’s “game to game.”
