Eric Stephens: Defenseman Sami Vatanen was on the ice yesterday, Cam Fowler and Hampus Lindholm were not on the ice.

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Fowler had an MRI yesterday on his right knee. The Ducks are expected to announce today how long they could be without Fowler. Coach Randy Carlyle was only saying that he’s day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Vatanen said he’s feeling good and ready to play.

Clayton Stoner practiced but hasn’t been cleared to return and is not an option for the Ducks.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz: Forward Logan Couture was on the ice yesterday wearing protection around his mouth.

Kevin Kurz: Forward Joe Thornton was also on the ice with Couture.

San Jose Sharks: Thornton said there was “no doubt” that he’d be ready for the start of the playoffs.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune: Defenseman Jared Spurgeon is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury on Tuesday, but is traveling with the team. They are hopeful he can play on Saturday.

Forward Jason Zucker said he’s feeling better and could return from his lower-body injury tonight.

Forward Chris Stewart missed practice yesterday, as well as their game on Tuesday due to an illness. Coach Bruce Boudreau wouldn’t say if he’ll travel with the team.
