NHL Injuries: Anders Lee is the latest New York Islanders to go down with an injury.
On the New York Islanders …
  • Arthur Staple: Forward Anders Lee is out indefinitely with a fractured leg. He was hit by a Johnny Boychuk slap shot on Thursday. His season is over regardless of how far the Islanders make it. Tests will be done to determine whether he needs surgery to repair the fracture.
  • Arthur Staple: Mikhail Grabovski (concussion) hasn’t been skating. Travis Hamonic (knee) could start skating soon. Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck are day-to-day and could be ready for next week.
On the New York Rangers …
  • Justin Tasch: Mats Zuccarello and Viktor Stalberg are both day-to-day with lower-body injuries and won’t play today. Coach Alain Vigneault said they should be fine for the start of the playoffs.
  • Andrew Gross: Stalberg won’t play today and Zuccarello is 50-50. Both should be ready for the playoffs.
  • New York Rangers:  Vigneault expects Dan Girardi to be ready for the start of the playoffs.
  • Andrew Gross: Ryan McDonagh is still considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury (right hand). Out today.
On the Pittsburgh Penguins …
  • Bill West of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review: Coach Mike Sullivan said that Marc-Andre Fleury’s concussion recovery is encouraging. He likely won’t play before the playoffs start, but could be an option soon. On playing today.

    “It is a possibility? Yes,” Sullivan said. “It is a probability? Probably not. In a perfect world, would we like to get him in a game? Sure we would. But that’s not always possible. We know Marc is making progress, and that’s a positive sign. That’s encouraging from our standpoint.”

On the Dallas Stars …
  • Mike Heika: Jason Spezza is over his illness. Jason Demers and Patrick Eaves are available. Coach Lindy Ruff said that they will make the decisions on if they play today.

  • Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Marc-Edouard Vlasic is questionable for tonight and Matt Nieto will be out.

    “He looks good,” DeBoer said. “We’ll make some decisions on tomorrow’s lineup, but I know for a fact he’ll be ready for the playoffs, which is good news.”
