Morning Hits: Injury Updates and Some Goalie Notes
  • Bruce Garrioch: The Senators will update Bobby Ryan’s status today. He was slashed on the hand. Mika Zibanejad could get back into the lineup.
  • John Vogl: Sabres Drew Stafford left yesterday’s game with a lower-body injury. Stafford was feeling better after the game and will travel with the team to Montreal. He will test it out at the morning skate.
  • New Jersey Devils: Status for Travis Zajac (lower-body) and Adam Henrique (upper-body) for today is uncertain.
  • Michael Russo: Wild’s Jason Zucker has been playing with a charley horse.
  • Chantel McCabe: Hurricanes Jordan Staal is a couple weeks away from skating.
  • George Richards: Panthers Roberto Luongo said he tried to play through his arm injury. He hopes to be able to return next week.
  • Michael Russo: Niklas Backstrom is expected to start in net for the Wild against Jake Allen and the Blues.
  • Seth Rorabaugh: Hurricanes web site reporting that Anton Khudobin will start in net against the Penguins.
