  • Randy Sportak: Flames defenseman Mark Giordano will be considered an injury replacement for Team Canada.
  • Hope Smoke: Pierre LeBrun said that Team Canada debated till the last minute between Logan Couture and Rick Nash. Couture’s injury didn’t play a part in the decision.
  • Chip Alexander: Re-scheduling with Hurricanes-Sabres will be difficult because of the Olympic year, but it will be done according to Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford.
  • Adrian Dater: The Avalanche sign Nate Guenin to a two year extension.
  • Tom Gulitti: The Capitals put Alex Urbom on waivers. They claimed him off waivers on Oct. 3rd from the Devils.
  • Darren Dreger: Gilbert Brule has cleared waivers and his contract will be terminated.
  • Chip Alexander: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said that Elias Lindholm is in Raleigh and could play on Thursday against Toronto.
  • Michael Russo: The Wild return Matt Dumba to Portland of the WHL for the remainder of the season.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Martin Brodeur will wear all-white pads to “look bigger” in the net, and that it will be harder to see open spots.
