  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Several teams were surprised that Alex Edler didn’t get traded to the Hurricanes for No. 5 pick at the draft. The Flyers, Lightning, Senators, and Oilers are all interested in Edler. He has a cap hit of $5 million through 2018-19.

Roberto Luongo had lunch with Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini on Sunday in Florida.

The Oilers-Flyers talk on Braydon Coburn isn’t dead. The Flyers could use Coburn as a bargaining chip in Bobby Ryan talks.

Sharks Dan Boyle could be on the move. He’s in the last year of his deal, $6.6 million cap hit and it’s believed he submitted a list of eight teams back in February. The Senators are interested if the Sharks eat some of the salary.

Don’t expect Paul Stastny to be traded.

  • Elliotte Friedman of CBC: Free agent sleeper picks: Andrew Ference and the Red Wings, Rob Scuderi and the Penguins.

Anton Khudobin could be a nice fit in Edmonton, or possibly the Islanders.

Predators coach Barry Trotz said Seth Jones would be partnered with Shea Weber.

What people were saying at the draft on Bobby Ryan trade rumors: “If he gets traded, it’s because you’ll look at the deal and understand why.”

  • Scott Bordow Arizona Republic: Glendale City Council voted 4-3 in favor of approving the arena lease agreement with Renaissance Sports and Entertainment. They will be staying in Phoenix for at least the next five years.
