  • Darren Dreger via twitter: Seems that due to the high asking price for Zenon Konopka (a 2nd round pick), the Islanders may want to re-sign him. Brett Cyrgalis of the NY Post: The Islanders were also shopping Radek Martinek for a 2nd round pick. GM Garth Snow hasn’t talked about a contact extension for Konopka, and will reevaluate at the end of the season.
  • Larry Brooks of the NY Post: The Dallas Stars never backed off their demands of “one or two core roster players, a premium prospect and a first-round draft pick” for Brad Richards.
  • Ian Walker via twitter: Canucks coach Alain Vigneault on yesterday’s trades, “We’re a more complete team, a more balanced team and have more depth, which should help.”
  • Dan Tencer via twitter: Magnus Paajarvi will replace Dustin Penner with Horcoff and Hemsky. Hall, Cogliano and Eberle will stay together. Martin Gerber will start in net.
