Rumors II: Richards, Hamonic, Johansen, and Boedker
Mikkel Boedker

On the San Jose Sharks …

  • Chris Nichols: Darren Dreger: “Could I see Mike Richards being a short-term solution w/ the #SJSharks? Absolutely.”

On the Montreal Canadiens …

  • Brian Wilde: The Canadiens need to make a trade. Zach Kassian and Alex Semin didn’t work out on right wing, and they need help there. GM Marc Bergevin has depth on the blueline to acquire a winger.

Dreger on the trade front …

  • Chris Nichols: Darren Dreger on the Hamonic trade front: “Seems quiet where Travis Hamonic of the New York Islanders is concerned”
  • Chris Nichols: Dreger on Ryan Johansen: “For me, that feels like a deal that would likely get done in the offseason.” There would be more flexibility then and possibly a greater return.
  • Chris Nichols: Dreger on the goalie trade market: “We keep looking at Vasilevskiy, as an example, w/ the #TBLightning, but they don’t want to part w/ him.”

On the Arizona Coyotes …

  • Sarah McLellan from the Arizona Republic: (from a week ago) Coyotes GM Don Maloney on pending UFA Mikkel Boedker.

“We have not had any meaningful dialogue at all, quite frankly, since his one-year contract,” General Manager Don Maloney said. “So we’ll start up in January and see where we’re at.”

“I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to do something that’s good for Mikkel and good for us,” Maloney said. “… He’s an important part of our team, and hopefully we can do something that makes sense for both of us.”

    Boedker on the situation.

“It’s going to sort itself out,” Boedker said. “I don’t know where the team stands and where I stand. There’s been no conversations. I haven’t heard anything. I’ve just been focused on trying to help the team and trying to make sure that I could help them as much as possible and obviously help myself become a better player.”
