Injury Notes: Rangers, Red Wings, Senators, Wild, Islanders, Avs, Sharks and Lightning
  • Andrew Gross: Rangers Ryan Callahan (left knee) has been out since December 10th. Has felt good the last two days, but the initial timeline of missing four to six weeks hasn’t changed.
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Henrik Zetterberg has a sore groin but is expected to play today.
  • Ted Kulfan: Red Wings Jonas Gustavsson is out with a sore groin.
  • Bruce Garrioch: Senators Jason Spezza and Chris Phillips are out tonight. Sens coach Paul MacLean said that Spezza’s injury is not serious, but they want to care of it and have it rested.
  • Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: Wild’s Josh Harding returns to the team. Zach Parise’s latest MRI may have revealed a fracture in his foot that didn’t appear the first time. A stress fracture could take four to six weeks.

“We’ve got to keep him off the ice until it starts to feel better and then we might have to keep him off a little bit longer,” Yeo said this morning. “We just have make sure he gets a full opportunity to heal. It’s a long season and we need him to have the opportunity to go out and perform and compete at the level that he’s capable of.”

  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Michael Grabner (illness) and Josh Bailey (upper-body) both missed yesterday’s game.
  • Adrian Dater via Sulia: Avs coach Patrick Roy said that Alex Tanguay could start skating this week, but his return is not known.
  • Pro Hockey Talk: Avs P.A. Parenteau suffered a knee injury in last night’s game.
  • David Pollak: Sharks Tommy Wingels left last night’s game with an injury.
  • Erik Erlendsson: The Lightning return Dmitry Korobov to the AHL. A good sign that Eric Brewer and/or Sami Salo are close to returning.
