Injuries: Stars, Avs, Wings, Blues, Rangers, Lightning and more
  • Tom Layberger of the Dallas Morning News: Stars defenseman John Klingberg suffered a lower-body injury against the Lightning on Saturday. He played through it, but left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury in the third period after taking a hit from Flyers Zac Rinaldo.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars John Klingberg (upper-body), Jason Demers (illness) and Cody Eakin (team discipline) are all game-time decisions.
  • Mike Chambers of the Denver Post: Avs Semyon Varlamov didn’t practice yesterday, but is expected to take part in their morning skate and is a possibility to start against the Devils. He’s been bothered by a groin issue.
  • Lou Korac: Blues Kevin Shattenkirk remains week-to-week, but is getting closer to returning. Zbynek Michalek is getting close to joining the Blues blueline.
  • Andrew Gross: Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein had x-rays after the game after blocking a shot. No update was given, possibly coming today.
  • Chuck Gormley: Capitals Jay Beagle left with an upper-body injury and will be re-evaluated today.
  • DJ Bean: Bruins David Krejci skated for the second day yesterday.
  • George Richards: Panthers Roberto Luongo will be out against the Jets.  Nick Bjugstad and David Bolland will be back.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Lightning coach Jon Cooper didn’t have updates on Cedric Paquette, Ondrej Palat or Braydon Coburn.
  • Kevin Kurz: Sharks Matt Irwin is day-to-day, but he said he’s “getting there.” Coach Todd McLellan said that it’s looking “bleaker and bleaker” that Mike Brown will be able to return this season.
  • Joe Smith: Lightning’s Braydon Coburn had a body maintenance day yesterday.
  • Jack Michaels: Oilers Nikita Nikitin won’t be ready to go against the Penguins, possibly the Blue Jackets.
