Injuries: Shattenkirk, Hall, Hanzal, Severson, Eriksson plus more
  • St. Louis Blues: Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will undergo abdominal surgery in the next seven to 10 days, and then will be week-to-week.
  • Joanne Ireland: Oilers Taylor Hall re-aggravated his bruised bone that had kept him out for the previous three games. Benoit Pouliot was hit by a puck and will be evaluated along with Hall later today.
  • Andy Strickland: Patrik Berglund and Jori Lehtera will miss tonight’s game against the Lightning.
  • Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Martin Hanzal’s upper-body injury isn’t getting better. He left the team yesterday to be checked out by team physicians. He’s still in the day-to-day range according to coach Dave Tippett.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Damon Severson is expected to have his fractured ankle x-ray’d today. Not known when he’ll start skating.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars coach Lindy Ruff said they are hopeful that Erik Cole is available tonight. A decision hasn’t been made yet.
  • Ken Wiebe: Jets defenseman Jay Harrison is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but he could be out longer.
  • Boston Bruins: head coach Claude Julien said that Loui Eriksson has a stiff neck, but confirmed that there is nothing concussion related. Eriksson, Chris Kelly and Dennis Seidenberg are all expected to practice today.
  • Bruce Garroich: Senators Craig Anderson didn’t travel with the team to New Jersey. Chris Phillips won’t play tonight.
  • Wes Gilbertson: Flames Sam Bennett took part in their morning skate yesterday. Still recovering from shoulder surgery. Derek Wills: Jiri Hudler and Bennett skated yesterday, Curtis Glencross and Ladislav Smid didn’t.
  • Aaron Vickers: The Flames put David Wolf on the IR with a leg laceration and recalled Markus Granlund.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that Mark Fraser will be able to play tonight after missing practice yesterday.
  • Rob Mixer: Blue Jackets Brandon Dubinsky and Matt Calvert missed practice yesterday. Kevin Connauton practiced as a forward yesterday.
  • Tim Panaccio: Flyers Scott Laughton is expected to play on Thursday.
