  • Erik Erlendsson: Tyler Johnson was given yesterday off for “body maintenance.” Coach Jon Cooper said that Johnson availability for tonight is “on the fence” and a call up could be coming.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Jonathan Drouin and Cedric Paquette didn’t practice yesterday and are doubtful for tonight.

  • Ian Mendes: Red Wings Ken Holland expects Pavel Datsyuk to be back in about two weeks. He is on target.

On the Blues …

  • Lou Korac: Blues defenseman Colton Parayko was using a walking boot yesterday. Coach Ken Hitchcock said it’s more for protection than something serious. Parayko will be a game time decision.
  • Lou Korac: Hitchcock said that Vladimir Tarasenko is ‘fine.’ He’s was limping around a bit and they will monitor him.

  • Eric Stephens: Ryan Getzlaf said that he had “three or four episodes” where he was in a lot of pain before he decided to have his appendix removed.

  • Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press: The Wild put Justin Fontaine on the IR with a lower-body injury and will likely be out on a “week-to-week” basis according to head coach Mike Yeo. Fontaine was hurt on a knee-on-knee collision with Blackhawks Andrew Desjardins.

  • Tom Gulitti: Coach John Hynes said that Jiri Tlusty is “questionable” for today with an upper-body injury.
