Injuries: Lightning, Hawks, Coyotes, Isles, Devils, Leafs and more
  • Josh Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning’s Radko Gudas had arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday and will be out for about four months.

“It’s a little tough to digest right now, just because clearly it’s more serious than we thought,” coach Jon Cooper said. “It’s hard for me to comment, because I’ve had him for a long time, so I know what he means to us. I’m sure if you ask players on other teams what it’s like to go into a corner with Radko, they’re probably not going to have great things to say. So take a guy who is pretty heavy on the back end, plays with a lot of grit, especially off our team, it’s a big hole. So it’s tough. You feel for him because he’s really finding his own in the league.”

  • Mark Lazerus: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg had a procedure done yesterday to “further stabilize a metacarpal fracture in his left hand.” His timetable to return remains the same.
  • Craig Morgan: Coyotes Martin Hanzal is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Josh Bailey is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
  • NY Islanders: The Islanders put Lubomir Visnovsky on the IR with an upper-body injury. Michael Grabner has been activated off the IR.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Damon Severson is walking around a bit on his fractured left ankle. He is about three weeks into his estimated four- to five-week estimate.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Stephen Gionta didn’t require surgery on his fractured hand. He’s in a soft cast and is expected to be out four- to six-weeks.
  • Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs Nazem Kadri was back at practice yesterday. He was suppose to be out for seven to 10 days.
  • Ben Kuzma: Canucks Brad Richardson didn’t return for the third period after blocking a shot.
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Tomas Jurco was pulled from their game last night for precautionary reasons for an upper-body injury.
  • Irfaan Gaffar: Canucks Radim Vrbata missed last night’s game with an illness.
