  • Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun: Mark Scheifele practiced yesterday with the team for the first time since suffering a concussion after a collision with Andrew Ladd at practice on boxing day. He could return at some point during their five-game road trip.

“He will have to get through a number of skates and then enough of a full-contact practice that in our minds simulates game activity,” head coach Paul Maurice said. “And then he has to come off that and feel right and not have any symptoms at all. When that time comes, then he’ll play.”

On the New Jersey Devils …

  • Tom Gulitti: Jacob Josefson had x-rays on Tuesday night and they came back negative. They are not sure if it’s just a bruise. Will take a few days.
  • Rich Chere: The Devils Josefson was put on the IR with a lower-body injury and they recalled Mike Sislo.
