The Dallas Stars have traded defenseman Johnny Oduya to the Chicago Blackhawks for Mark McNeill and a conditional fourth round pick according Mark Lazerus.
Pierre LeBrun: The Stars are retaining 50 percent of Oduya’s salary/cap hit.
The 35-year old Oduya was drafted 221st overall in the 7th round of the 2001 draft by the Capitals.
The 24-year old McNeill was drafted 18th overall in the 2011 draft by the Blackhawks.
Oduya spent three plus years with the Blackhawks before they traded him along with Patrick Sharp to the Stars before the 2015-16 season.
Is Johnny Oduya much better than the seven defensemen Chicago already has? I'm skeptical. pic.twitter.com/9VJTMsXtHE
