NHL Rumors I: Ellis, DeKeyser, Leddy and Ryan
  • Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: The Predators have only one RFA unsigned, defenseman Ryan Ellis. It all comes down to money. GM David Poile is hopeful a deal can be reached soon.

“Like 99 percent of negotiations that aren’t done at this time we just don’t agree exactly on what the dollars should be,” Poile said. “Hopefully it will be done by training camp. That’s what our target is.”

  • Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Red Wings RFA Danny DeKeyser isn’t worried that they haven’t reached an agreement yet.

“I’m not really worried,” DeKeyser said. “We’re just kind of going back and forth, and we’ll see what happens. It’d be nice to figure out something long term.”

Red Wings GM Ken Holland said the sides spoke earlier this week and will do so again by the end of this week.

  • Craig Custance of ESPN: (mailbag) Custance thinks the Blackhawks will trade Nick Leddy to help get under the salary cap.Going to hear a lot about Senators pending UFA Bobby Ryan this season. Ottawa doesn’t have a lot of money and he’s going to get paid.
