NHL Rumors VII: Neal, Kane, Spezza, Habs, Panthers, Oilers, Sabres and Blues
  • Will DePaoli: The Penguins are listening to offers on James Neal but not actively shopping him. They have let teams know that they are not interested in futures.
  • Gary Lawless: Other teams are saying that Jets are listening to offers for Evander Kane. Been told “it’s a big deal so there is some nervousness.” If the Jets do decide to trade Kane, the price will be high and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff won’t back down from his price.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks GM Bob Murray said he be getting “to some serious talking” in Philadelphia.
  • Bruce Garrioch: Confirming that the Blackhawks have shown interest in Jason Spezza. Six teams could be kicking tires on Spezza.
  • Jimmy Murphy: Heard the Canadiens and Panthers are talking trade that doesn’t involve the first overall pick.
  • Mark Spector: The Oilers are still looking to add another defenseman through a trade. They are unlikely to find a high end puck-mover. The Oilers would take another solid NHL defenseman to allow the young kids to mature.
  • AndyStrickland: The Sabres are considering their options with regards to Chris Stewart, could be on the move.
  • Andy Strickland: The Blues could look to add a defenseman to play on the left side with Kevin Shattenkirk.
  • Joe Smith: Ideally Yzerman would like to acquires a young defenseman that is still under contract, which is not easy to do.
