NHL Video: Matt Cooke Has In-Person Hearing For Kneeing Tyson Barrie

Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke has been offered an in-person hearing for kneeing Colorado Avalanche defenseman Tyson Barrie.

Everyone knows about Cooke’s history, so his suspension will be an interesting one.

How many games do you think he will get?

If it wasn’t the playoffs and because he has injured yet another player, I would say he should get 15 games! However because it IS the playoffs and penalties are usually less because of the magnitude of each game, he will likely only get 4 games. I would actually like to see this terd burglar banned from the NHL because everytime he goes after someone they are out for very long periods of time. Barrie is done for 4-6 weeks, meaning he is going to miss the rest of this year, because of Cooke. How many more players is this guy going to be allowed to injure for the league says “Enough, you have no business being here, because you go out and intend to take people out and there is no room in this league for players like you.”

Give him 50 games or, better, make him fight John Scott in a death match! Enough is enough of this dirtbag… He ended Savard’s career and Karlsson hasn’t been the same since coming back.

With someone new calling the shots it will be interesting to see what he gets. I think they will go heavy on him, maybe even a Torres 20 games type punishment. They need to send a message.
Goes to show all the people who said he changed. Fuck that guy. He needs to be blacklisted from all nhl teams.

i have to disagree with the karlsson statement. he came back late in the year and was an immediate force. this year he had 74 points in 82 games. i don’t watch a lot of sens games but that seems pretty effective to me.

Barrie kind of ducked at the end. I saw the video on the game and it looks like he is avoiding the hit. Look at Bickel hit, no suspension, sea brook hit 3 games. I think Cooke will get 4

IF it was not cooke it would be at MOST 3 games, barrie tryed to avoid the hit and put him self in a bad spot, not saying it was his fault but he didnt help his own cause. that said play offs or not, with his history its going to be a big one. i wouldnt be supprised if it was in the 15 or 20 game range
