Maple Leafs Trade Liles and Prospect to Hurricanes for Gleason

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded defenseman John-Michael Liles  and prospect Dennis Robertson to the Carolina Hurricanes for defenseman Tim Gleason.

The 33-year old Liles is under contract until the end of 2015-16 season, with a $3.875 million cap hit. Liles was drafted 159th overall in the 5th round of the 2000 draft by the Avalanche.

The 30-year old Gleason is under contract until the end of the 2015-16 season, with a cap hit of $4 million. Gleason was drafted 23rd overall in the 2001 draft by the Senators.

The 22-year old Robertson was drafted 173rd overall in the sixth round of the 2011 draft by the Maple Leafs.
