Injury Notes: Franzen, Brunner, Parise, Dupuis, Upshall, Ericsson, Gudbranson, Hertl, Brown and Salo


  • Bill Roose: Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that Johan Franzen won’t play until after Saturday. Hopeful that Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm can play on Saturday.
  • Rich Chere: Devils Lou Lamoriello on Damien Brunner: “He felt much better the 2nd day. Right now there is no surgery. He is just getting into rehab.”
  • Michael Russo: Wild’s Zach Parise is out with a lower-body injury.
  • Rob Rossi: Penguins Pascal Dupuis was helped off the ice, pointing to his right knee.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Panthers Scottie Upshall is out with an upper-body injury.
  • George Sipple: Red Wings Jonathan Ericsson is out with an upper-body injury. Ansar Khan: It looked like he hurt his right shoulder after checking Matt Martin.
  • Eric Gilmore of NHL.com: Sharks Tomas Hertl will have surgery on his right knee next week. He was originally expected to be out a month, but a more definitive timetable will be known after his surgery.
  • Dennis Bernstein: Kings Dustin Brown missed last night’s game due to an illness.
  • Damian Cristodero: Lightning’s coach Cooper doesn’t think that Sami Salo’s injury is serious. Being off for four days will help.
