Seems like he’s worth a lot more than that

lol how do you figure? 26 years old and can’t crack one of the worst rosters in the nhl 7 years after he was a 4th round pick? Why would any team give up more?

Classic case of an Oiler fan over valuing a player. At 26 he should be entering his prime in the NHL. The reality is that he’s just like the vast majority of top AHL scorers: a career minor leaguer.

What chance has he ever gotten in the NHL to declare him a career minor leaguer? He has 30 points in 66 career games, mostly as a 23-year-old, which is not terrible in the least. It’s not his fault Edmonton has not given him a real chance. And there’s really no excuse for it on their part, he IS good enough to be on that roster.
