Injury notes: Weiss, DeKeyser, Koivu, Calvert, Bickell, Bourque, Duchene and Kessel
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Stephen Weiss (groin) expects to be ready for Saturday’s game against the Senators.
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Danny DeKeyser is out for four to six weeks with a separated shoulder.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Saku Koivu said he occasionally encounters dizziness during his on-ice sessions. This is his first concussion.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets winger Matt Calvert is expected to play tonight, his first game since Oct. 10th.
  • Chris Kuc: Blackhawks Bryan Bickell will be out weeks with a left knee injury. Tracey Myers: Out two to three weeks.
  • Greg Brady: Maple Leafs Phil Kessel is clearly playing hurt. Issue is if he can play through it or not. Smart move may be to address it and take the heat off him. James Mirtle: Coach Randy Carlyle wouldn’t reveal if Kessel is hurt or not. Jonas Siegel: Kessel has now played 16 minutes or less in four of their last five games. He was playing closer to 20 minutes per night earlier in the season.
