  • Daren Millard: Kings GM Dean Lombardi said that Jonathan Quick will be out for another month, likely until Christmas.
  • David Pollak: Sharks Brent Burns had two good medical reports yesterday. His conditioning and timing is still a question, and there is no decision if he’ll be back in the lineup against the Lightning.
  • Dan Wood: Ducks Saku Koivu still hasn’t received medical clearance.
  • Tony Ambrogio: Maple Leafs Mark Fraser and Tyler Bozak both say they are feeling better but won’t play tonight.
  • Ted Kulfan: The Red Wings put Dan DeKeyser on the LTIR. Ansar Khan: They think he’ll be out for three to six weeks. Ted KulfanTrevor Parkes was recalled in a paper move, Gustav Nyquist will be called up today.
  • Michael Russo: The Wild put Niklas Backstrom on the IR retroactive to last Wednesday. He is able to come of the IR whenever he’s ready.
  • Mark Stepneski on Stars. NHL: Stars forward Alex Chiasson took a puck in the face during yesterday’s practice and didn’t return.

    “I know he got hit in the face and he’s going to be evaluated,” Ruff said. “He hit him pretty hard, so we are concerned there might be some damage.”

  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Francois Beauchemin was looked at by doctors and is “day-to-day” according to coach Bruce Boudreau.
