Injury Notes: Rinne, McQuaid and Getzlaf
  • Nashville Predators: Predators statement on Pekka Rinne.

Pekka Rinne underwent a MRI earlier this week and he continues to progress in his recovery from a bacterial infection in his hip which was initially identified and addressed with arthroscopic hip surgery on October 24. There have been no setbacks – and we and the doctors are thankful they have identified the infection – so now it is simply a matter of time for recovery and allowing treatment to take its course. Pekka will remain on crutches and antibiotics for at least the next couple weeks before a follow-up MRI in late November. We expect a full and complete recovery and will provide additional updates when appropriate.

  • Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe: Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid left Saturday’s game grabbing his right hip/groin area and is ‘doubtful’ for their game against the Lightning.

“He’s still getting better, but still hurting today,” coach Claude Julien said. “If McQuaid isn’t ready, which he’s probably doubtful, Bartkowski] will go in there.”

  • Curtis Zupke of NHL.com: Ducks Ryan Getzlaf is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Getzlaf fell during the Ducks morning skate on Friday and was a game-time decision on Friday. He did play on Friday and recorded his first career hat trick.
