Morning Rumors: Hiller, Oilers, Jets and Barker
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Matheson thinks the Oilers will “all over” Ducks Jonas Hiller this summer if Devan Dubnyk doesn’t work out as their No. 1 goalie. Hiller will be a UFA.
  • Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press: Lawless thinks the Jets should do nothing right now. “Trade now? From a position of weakness? That’s what loser organizations do. Organizations destined to rot for decades and treat the odd season of mediocrity as something to celebrate.” Firing coach Claude Noel may be a temporary distraction, but the same “deep-rooted issues” would sill be there. They could trade some roster players, but they would only likely net you draft picks.
  • Igor Eronko: Defenseman Cam Barker is talking with Barys of the KHL.
