  • Pierre LeBrun: The 1st round pick that the Islanders included in the Vanek-Moulson deal with the Sabres is protected. Islanders can defer to 2015 if it is in the top 10.
  • Mark Spector: Sam Gagner has been cleared to play. Bob Stauffer: If Gagner is activated off the IR and Richard Bachman remains with the team, they will have to make a roster move. They have two extra defenseman, Grebeshkov and Potter. Chris Johnston: Gagner says he’s playing.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Mathieu Perreault will be back in the lineup. Dustin Penner is skating, but might not be ready.
  • Chris Johnston: Randy Carlyle said that Joffrey Lupul is a game-time decision. John-Michael Liles will be scratched.
  • Roger Millions: Flames Mark Giordano has a broken ankle and is out for six to eight weeks. Lee Stempniak has a broken foot and is out week-to-week. Chris Breen is day-to-day with a abdominal strain.
