Injury Notes: Boyle, St. Louis, Clowe, Drewiske, JVR, Rozsival, Soderberg, Hagelin, Kane and Pacioretty
  • David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News: Sharks Dan Boyle flew back to San Jose yesterday and in a text: “I’m OK. That was scary. Hopefully the symptoms will be very minor, if any, going forward.” Blues Maxim Lapierre said that he tried calling Boyle, but Boyle did not answer. Lapierre said he understood why Boyle would not answer.
  • Missy Zielinski: Lightning’s Martin St. Louis didn’t practice, day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Damian Cristodero: St. Louis took a Drew Doughty shot off the foot on Tuesday. Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune: St. Louis hasn’t ruled himself out of tonight’s game, but the recalling of Brett Connolly could suggest otherwise.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that Ryane Clowe was elbowed in the head on Sunday and experienced a headache afterwards. Todd Cordell: The Devils put Clowe on IR retroactive to October 13th. Tom Gulitti: Clowe may have suffered three concussions last year, but received clearance after undergoing test after last season. With his history, they are playing it safe with Clowe. He’ll miss the next two games.
  • Dave Stubbs: Canadiens Davis Drewiske will be out for five to six months after shoulder surgery.
  • Jonas Siegel: Leafs James van Riemsdyk was back at practice yesterday.
  • Scott Powers: Blackhawks Michal Rozsival is sick and likely won’t play.
  • Joe Haggerty: Bruins Carl Soderberg has been cleared for contact and his getting close to returning.
  • Larry Brooks: Rangers Carl Hagelin has been cleared for contact. Targeting an October 29th return against the Islanders.
  • Robin Short: Jets Evander Kane was hurt in practice yesterday morning.
  • Dave Stubbs: Max Pacioretty’s status should be updated after the Canadiens morning skate.
