  • Ken Wiebe: Jets defensemen Zach Bogosian and Grant Clitsome are day-to-day with injuries.
  • Kevin Kurz: Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart is optimistic for opening night.
  • Curtis Zupke: Ducks defenseman Luca Sbisa hasn’t skated in two weeks and is still wearing a walking boot.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks defenseman Sheldon Souray (torn wrist ligament) has his cast off and rehab will start Monday. His timetable to return is still at late December/early January.
  • Buffalo Sabres: Sabres Nikita Zadorov will have his hand looked at after blocking a shot with it.
  • Bob Duff: Red Wings Stephen Weiss felt a tweak in his groin last night and was pulled as a precaution. Ansar Khan: Weiss said he was 100 percent and is sure he’ll be ready for the opener.
  • Ken Wiebe: Jets coach Claude Noel said that Dustin Byfuglien will be fine after leaving the game with a suspected knee injury.
