Roster Notes: Flyers, Blue Jackets, Blues D Pairings, Hamilton and Oilers
  • Anthony SanFilippo: The Flyers cut their camp roster down to 32. Two of those remaining, Chris Pronger and Marc-Andre Bourdon, will start the season on the IR. Two of the forwards, Ben Holmstrom and Kris Newbury, have to clear waivers and could be put on waivers and assigned to the AHL if they clear later this week.
  • Rob Mixer: The Blue Jackets returned five players to junior: Dillon Heatherington, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Josh Anderson, Nick Moutrey & Oscar Dansk.
  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: The Blues have been testing new defensive pairings: Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester will remain together. Barret Jackman has been with Kevin Shattenkirk, and Jordean Leopold is paired with Roman Polak. This could “very much” be their opening pairings on October 3rd according to Ken Hitchcock.
  • Boston Bruins: Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said that his goal is to have defenseman Dougie Hamilton in the NHL this year.
  • Jason Gregor: Battling for two Oilers forwards spots: Omark, Joensuu, Hamilton, Eager, Brown and Pitlick.
