  • Bob McKenzie: The Blues and Alex Pietrangelo agree on a seven-year deal with a $6.5 million salary cap hit.

Pietrangelo was drafted 4th overall by the Blues in the 2008 draft.

  • Pierre LeBrun: Pietrangelo gets the same contract as Senators Erik Karlsson, seven-years, $45.5 million.
  • Andy Strickland: Deal isn’t officially signed yet. Salary similar across the board, a little under $6.5 million to start and goes a bit above it in the back years of the deal.
  • Dan Rosen: Blues GM Doug Armstrong on Pietrangelo: “He is an elite defenseman in this league and will be for years to come.”
