  • Stephen Whyno: Blues GM Doug Armstrong on Alex Pietrangelo talks: “Talks between the Blues and Alex’s camp have broken off for now.” He won’t be at the start of training camp. Andy Strickland: The start of the season appears to be the tipping point.
  • Bruce Garrioch: A deal between the Senators and Jared Cowen is not imminent.
  • John Vogl: Sabres GM Darcy Regier has discussed short- and long-term contracts with Cody Hodgson’s camp. Both sides would like to get a deal done. Mike Harrington: Regier is hopeful that they can get Hodgson on the ice for the start of camp tomorrow. Both sides are working on a deal.
  • Szymon Szemberg: Damien Brunner is still looking for a contract after rejecting the Red Wings offer. May find one in the Swiss league.
  • David Pollak: The Sharks have re-signed defenseman Nick Petrecki to a one-year deal worth $715,000.
  • Joe Haggerty: Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg said there hasn’t been any negotiations for a contract extension yet. He is entering the last year of his deal and wants to stay.
  • Farhan Lalji: Henrik Sedin said there has been one meeting with management about a contract extension. He is optimistic and hopes it’s their last contract.
