Morning Hits: Sedin’s, Kiprusoff, Burakovsky, Tolchinsky, Wennberg and Dano
  • Mike Halford of Pro Hockey Talk: From a Sportsnet report, Daniel and Henrik Sedin’s agent, JP Barry, will be meeting with Canucks GM Mike Gillis. Henrik said there is no timetable for a decision. Both are entering the final season of their contracts.

“I’m sure we’re going to talk before training camp and see where we are,” Henrik explained. “For us there’s no rush, I mean, if things can get done we’re more than happy but if not we’re happy to wait.”

  • Todd Cordell: Flames GM Jay Feaster said that Miikka Kiprusoff still hasn’t filed his retirement papers.

“No, he has not filed his retirement papers as of this date,” Feaster said. “As I’ve said consistently since the end of the season, all indications he has given us suggest he will not be returning for the 2013-14 season.”

  • Victor Fernandes: Capitals draft pick Andre Burakovsky will play with the Erie Otters (OHL) this season.
  • Michael Smith: The Hurricanes have signed undrafted Sergey Tolchinsky to a three-year entry-level deal with a $150,000 signing bonus.
  • Chris Kuc: The Blackhawks have signed 2012 1st round draft pick, Teuvo Teravainen, to a three-year entry-level deal.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets 2013 1st round picks Alexander Wennberg and Marko Dano won’t be attending the Traverse City prospect tournament or training camp.
