cmon, not every player is overpaid… im sure his offensive numbers are depressed a bit playing in san jose, where they have had a depth forward ranks for the past decade almost..

I’m a huge Joe Thornton fan, I watch every game. But Pavelski only becomes useful on the powerplay and when they put him on the third line, but he is a two-way player.

6 million is to much for a guy that is a 2nd line center at best behind Couture, and looks the best playing on the 3rd line. Overpaying players is what has San Jose in the cap problems they are in right now. And overpaying at least 1-2 million per season isn’t going to help the team in the future.

I agree w/ Dan. Probably a $1MM-2MM per year overpayment. Probably could have moved him for some decent young talent and saved half that cap hit…

If clarkson is worth 5.25, then pavelski is worth 6 (at least)

    HA!

GOOD POINT on Clarkson, but he’s not worth 5.25! =)

This pavelski resigning is huge. Probably the most underrated player in San Jose. He always has consistant numbers and leadership. He will be the next sharks captain
