  • Lou Korac: Blues GM Doug Armstrong on defenseman Alex Pietrangelo: “We are going to do what is necessary to get him signed.”
  • Greg Wyshynski of Yahoo! Sports: Jaromir Jagr’s agent wouldn’t confirm or deny that Jagr “inspected” the Devils facilities, but said “a possibility he was there.” On when a decision could be made: “I don’t want to put a time frame on it. It’s up to him. Fairly soon,” said agent Petr Svoboda.
  • Paul Branecky: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford on Zach Boychuk: “It’s really up to Zach. He’s disappointed with the way things have gone and expected to be in the NHL by now. We’d like to re-sign him, but so far he hasn’t accepted so I’m not sure where that’s at.”

  • Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins sign defenseman Brendan Mikkelson to a one-year, two-way contract worth $550,000.
  • Leafs PR: The Maple Leafs have signed goalie Christopher Gibson to a three-year entry level deal.
