Free Agent Hits II: Pietrangelo, Stewart, Brunner, Grabovski, Grebeshkov, Cuma, Zuccarello and Stepan
  • Andy Strickland of True Hockey: Alex Pietrangelo has told his representative to solely focus on a deal with the Blues and not an offer sheet from another team. Both sides are working on a deal, but are in the early stages. They are looking at a variety of contract concepts. Chris Stewart’s salary arbitration date is set for July 22nd and it looks like they are headed there. Strickland expects a deal for Magnus Paajarvi to be completed soon. Sources are saying that Damien Brunner and Mikhail Grabovski are getting interest, but other moves may need to happen first before it could happen.
  • Michael Russo: The Wild are close to re-signing defenseman Tyler Cuma. That would take care of all of their free agents.
  • Larry Brooks of the NY Post: Mats Zuccarello’s salary arbitration hearing is set for July 31st. The Rangers and Zuccarello’s side are still attempting to get a deal done. There is no progress with regards to RFA Derek Stepan. The Rangers have about $4 million left for Stepan and Zuccarello.
