Morning Hits: Burmistrov, Marchand, Kelly, Talbot, Jagr, Burakovsky and Stars coaching
  • Igor Eronko: Jets forward Alexander Burmistrov signed with Ak Bars of the KHL. Ken Wiebe: As long as the Jets send Burmistrov a qualifying offer each offseason, they will retain his rights until he’s 27.
  • Kevin Paul Dupont: Dupont wouldn’t be surprised if Brad Marchand and/or Chris Kelly is traded.
  • Tony Marinaro: Rumors of the Canadiens trying to trade for Max Talbot or sign Jaromir Jagr are false.
  • Ryan Kennedy: Capitals first round draft pick, Andre Burakovsky, won’t be heading to Erie to play in the CHL next season. Burakovsky’s agent, Kevin Epp: “We had indicated to teams in the CHL (before the Import Draft) that he would be staying in Sweden.”
  • Mike Heika: Stars GM Jim Nill said there hasn’t been a definite decision on an assistant coach to run the defense.
