Morning Hits: Miller, Vanek, Perron, Oshie and Kostitsyn

  • David Pagnotta: Quiet on the UFA talk with the Buffalo Sabres. Continuing calls for Ryan Miller, Thomas Vanek and others. They don’t have anything imminent.
  • David Pagnotta: Need to keep in mind Vanek’s $7 million salary cap hit when reading about trade rumors.
  • Bob Stauffer: The Blues have 14 forwards under contract and still need to sign Chris Stewart. The Blues may also have an internal salary cap. They may have to move someone like a David Perron or TJ Oshie.

Bounce back candidate? He had 20 points in 30 games last year, which over the course of a full season had him on a career best points pace. His best season ever is 54 points, it’s not like were talking about an 80 point scorer here.

I think what Sergei Kostitsyn meant was NO other NHL teams were interested in his services!
