Quick Hits: Tippett, Mayor of Seattle, Glendale and Saddledome flooded
  • Elliotte Friedman: The Coyotes and Dave Tippett have agreed to a five year contract extension.
  • Mayor McGinn: The mayor of Seattle twitter account said that they are confident that Key Arena would be ready to go for next season.
  • Nick Kypreos: “With Glendale 10M cash offer #NHL most likely 2 lose less $ staying than go’n SEA. No naming rights or solid suite rev’ math doesn’t add up.”
  • Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald: Reports are that the flood waters reached the 10th row in the Calgary Saddledome.

“I’m not sure,” said Raines, the vice-president of building operations for the Saddledome. “I don’t know if people are just estimating. We had someone in there (Friday) morning and we do have a significant amount of water, for sure, but I’m not going to speak to where or what row or whatever.”

“I can’t even get near there,” reported Flames equipment manager Mark DePasquale. “(Water) is up higher than the ceiling, so I’m sure it all has to be replaced.”
