NHL Rumors III: Sabres, Clowe, Streit, Boyle, Howard, Glencross and Elliott
  • Buffalo News Audio: Sabres GM Darcy Regier will basically listen to anything involving any of his players. With the salary cap going down next year, he said it will be tough to keep all his high priced guys. This could mean that one of Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville or Thomas Vanek could be traded by Wednesday.
  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Ryane Clowe may prefer a sign-and-trade, and there wouldn’t be any discounts if he signs one. Teams that could be interested are: Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Senators, Bruins, Canucks, Blues and Blackhawks. Sabres Ryan Miller, Robyn Regehr and Drew Stafford could be traded by Wednesday.

The Lightning have shown interest in Miller, but there is talk that Miller might prefer to end up on the west coast. Darcy Regier is trying to move Drew Stafford the most.

Islanders GM Garth Snow is trying to get an extension done with Mark Streit. They are talking, but if they can’t get a deal done, he could be moved. The Bruins, Maple Leafs, Kings and Blues have inquired.

The Rangers and Flyers have called about Dan Boyle.

There have been no contract talks between the Red Wings and Jimmy Howard in the past 10 days.

Flames Curtis Glencross could be moved for a draft pick. The Senators could be interested.

Nobody has been interested in Blues Brian Elliott.
